Applications for the 2018 class of Women Deliver Young Leaders are now open. Women Deliver will be accepting 300 young advocates for the next class of Young Leaders. The Women Deliver Young Leaders Program is a two-year program that trains, elevates, and empowers youth advocates to catalyze action for gender equality and the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women — with particular emphasis on sexual and reproductive health and rights and meaningful youth engagement. The program provides youth advocates with the training and resources necessary to extend their influence and actively shape the programs and policies that affect their lives. Started in 2010, the award-winning Women Deliver Young Leaders Program is comprised of 400 youth advocates from more than 100 countries, with 300 more scheduled to join in early 2018. Dusk to Dawn Curfew (6pm-6am) Has Been Imposed in Jos The Plateau State Capital

The Executive Governor of Plateau State has expressed great dismay and shock at the sudden build up of tension in Jos Metropolis on account of the conduct of some disgruntled elements, who have decided to throw the metropolis into confusion on account of their negative reaction to the agitations of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the South East. Consequently, the Governor has directed an immediate imposition of curfew from dusk to dawn (6pm – 6am) within the Greater Jos – Bukuru Metropolis, until further notice. The deployment of security personnel to all flash points within the metropolis has also been directed to ensure compliance with the curfew order and to avert any further breach of law and order. The Governor wishes to assure all citizens that the security and welfare as the primary concern of Government is assured by the Rescue Administration. Yobe State Executive Council Approved funds for the Execution of Various Projects Within The State.

By Hassan .B. Anchinai The Yobe State Executive Council today approved a total sum of N12, 262, 063. 801.00 for the execution of various projects and services, as part of H.E Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam administration's effort to further develop the state. In that amount, N11, 327, 120, 487.24 will be devoted to the construction of Yobe's brand new cargo airport in Damaturu. The first of its kind in the Northeast sub-region. The cargo airport will help generate and enhance business traffic through the movement of goods and services to and from the region in a way that will be economically empowering for the state and its people. Also approved by the State EXCO is the sum of N440, 274, 022.40 for the procurement of furniture for classrooms, offices, staff quarters, student hostels and dining halls for the five newly rehabilitated and expanded secondary schools within the state. Three Passengers On Board Air Peace Flight From Lagos To Abuja Were Arrested By The Airport Security Agency.

Three  passengers on an Air Peace flight from Lagos-to-Abuja have been arrested by airport security agencies, on teusday 12 2017 our source disclosed. The passengers, who were arrested by aviation security arm of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), have since been handed over to the Police Airport command for allegedly disrupting and delaying the 6:30 p.m flight on Monday. It was gathered that the three passengers which include two men and a lady - reportedly queried the seating arrangement of the aircraft but rebuffed the efforts made by the crew and pilot in command to explain that the arrangement was as approved by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Carlos Sosa said his country would collaborate with the Nigerian government on research in medicine, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. My Sosa made this known when he paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu on earlier today in Abuja.
